If you ever had to do

If you ever had to do one of the following when using Outlook or Outlook Express:

try very hard not to click on a message subject that looked suspicious; anyway, not without using a small trick (that used to work for me): pressing Shift, selecting the suspicious messages and then hitting Del,

try hard not to select some very good and very important messages together with the suspicious ones,

accept phone calls from extremely upset clients accusing you of infecting their computers with God knows what worm (personally got in trouble with BugBear),

working on an extremely low system because an efficient AV is doing its job scanning, updating, warning, locking etc.

delete all your Outlook contacts in order not to become infectious for friends and clients in case your computer somehow got infected,

…then you know what it’s like. Both Outlook and Outlook Express, while different applications, with no related history, have security as their weakest link. And that’s why some people switch to other email clients that are said to be more secure.

It is true that most worms are today Outlook dedicated because Outlook has both more users and more security holes.

Don?t open attachments

Don?t open attachments from people you know if your not expecting it. Call the person and ensure they sent it. If they did not, don?t open it. E-mail from strangers and unexpected attachments may contain adware or spyware waiting to install on your computer. It probably won?t install if you don?t open the e-mail or attachment. (Note: If you?re using e-mail software with a mail ?Preview Pane? like Microsoft Outlook, previewing the mail is the same as opening it. You should turn this feature off. Unselect ?Preview Pane? under the ?View? drop down list in Outlook.)

9. Use the Firefox web browser from www.mozilla.org. It is more secure and less vulnerable to popup ads, viruses, computer slowdowns, etc. It also has some additional tab and other options not available with other browsers.

10. We?ve talked about preventive maintenance but issues still happen. Hard drives fail. Computers are stolen, etc. Because of these risk, it?s important to backup your data on a regular basis.

Format Imaging – Roland SolJet PRO III XC-540 Printer/Cutter

Roland SolJet PRO III XC-540 Printer/Cutter

Wide-Format Imaging, Jul 2008 by Schiffner, Bill

For over 10 years, Brian Wittkamp has driven on the fast track to success as a premier provider of decals and graphics for the motorsports industry. As the founder of Comp-Cal, a sign and motorsport graphics company based in Denver, NC, Wittkamp counts among his clients NASCAR greats such as Joe Gibbs Racing’s Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Busch. To service these giants of race track, his shop operates in high gear-creating that championship look under very tight deadlines for some of the fastest and most famous cars in the world.

To stay ahead of the pack, Comp-Cal relies on Roland technologies including their new SolJet PRO III XC-540 54-inch printer/cutter, which was installed this past February.

“We purchased our first vinyl cutter in 1997 and from that point on we have been sold on the Roland brand,” Wittkamp says. “Roland products are reliable, precise and extremely easy to use. We take full advantage of the print/cut capabilities which allow us to keep pace with the tough demands of our clients.”

Wittkamp reports that they had a VersaCAMM unit in house but wanted to bring their production volume to the next level so purchased the Roland SolJet PRO III XC-540. “We wanted to get something more high volume to handle our growing workflow and we also wanted a unit with print/cut capabilities. In addition, purchasing a unit that was Eco-solvent was a key too. The SolJet PRO III XC-540 was chosen because it met all of these requirements,” he points out.

The XC-540 delivers rich, six-color CMYKLcLm images at a maximum print speed of 441 sqft/hr. For maximum productivity, the XC-540 offers a tri-heating system and advanced media feed and automatic take-up system and can be upgraded with an optional dryer/blower unit. “I am very impressed with the construction of this machine. It’s a very solid unit. The printer’s speed is tremendous. It’s been a real workhorse in helping us churn out jobs faster. The take- up reel is a great addition. It works very seamlessly with the printer.”

Comp-Cal designs graphics for hundreds of go kart customers nationwide-and enjoys a steady stream of work from NASCAR race teams as well. Recent projects that the XC-540 has played a roll in include graphic design and production for the #70 Nick Tucker Racing ARCA Re max Series Dodge Charger and for several high profile cars competing in the 2008 ARENA Racing Series. Wittkamp says their vehicle wraps are ptinted mostly on 3M ControlTrac V2 and 180C and the new Arlon DPF 6000X media

Any technique that you have

Any technique that you have used and you know that works should probably be passed on.

As a leader, you realise that there are different levels of people out here. Although they may all want to build a successful business online, they have very different backgrounds. With some you may have to slow down to their pace and be patient. (Not every one knows how to ?cut-and-paste?.) With others, you may just have to stand well back and watch them rip the opportunity to pieces!

If they?re completely green, show him or her how easy marketing can be. Simplify things. It is important that they begin to see results within a reasonable time scale. Remember that not everyone is as dedicated, patient and focused as you.

It requires a certain attitude to be a successful entrepreneur. You need to show your Newbie exactly what to expect. This is the ?What to expect list?:

You need to take calculated risks. Entrepreneurs thrive on this.

You need to be humble and ask questions so that you may learn.

You need to have clear written goals.

You need a plan of action.

You need to take action – Dreaming is fine.

To me it looked scary

To me it looked scary and horrendous like a giant towering over its surroundings with its tall spires; it did not seem to be the fantastic building everyone raved about. Not that there is anything wrong with La Sagrada, but I just prefer small churches. The smaller they are, the cozier they seem.

Listening to Pepe, I had an uneasy feeling. He was not even speaking in Catalan but luckily in Castillian to us; yet, he was talking of something else other than the church?s architecture. Probably, he wanted to mention the importance of churches to the city. I haven’t read the Bible in Spanish but I believe his speech was interspersed by quotations from it.

“Pepe knows so much about churches,” I commented to Delia, once we were outside.

This can become a real hassle

This can become a real hassle if you must juggle multiple remote controls while searching for the proper buttons to push. Add to this the fact that most modern devices tend to ?time out? if the proper button is not pushed within a certain time frame, and the frustration quickly mounts.

Unfortunately, the trend seems to be towards what I call the ?Naked Control Panel?. I myself own several devices with control panels so sparse that you are required to use the remote control to make adjustments. You can not even access certain functions without it. Maybe I?m being picky, but you should at least be able to access all of a device?s functions without the use of the remote control! What if you loose the remote control?

Stripping control panels of their buttons in the name of higher profits is shameful. Don?t get me wrong, there are occasions when an uncluttered control panel is advantageous, such as in simple, standalone devices, or where appearance is paramount; but otherwise, removing the buttons from a control panel only degrades the overall functionality of the device. Sometimes it?s just a lot easier to push the button? If it?s there!

The three years I spent

The three years I spent with this company were a great experience and I was better for it.

What did I do while I was working there initially that helped me get the fulltime job?

I quickly completed the work I was brought on to do.

I found more work to do and kept myself busy.

I let my boss know I was interested and motivated to remain with the company.

I let others in the company know what work I was doing to build up credibility.

When you are presented with an opportunity that might not be exactly what you are looking for, consider the possible upside that could materialize in the future.

Holding a successful missionary open house

Holding a successful missionary open house

Deseret News (Salt Lake City), Jul 27, 2010 by Stacie Duce

Based on the recent success of a missionary open house held at the LDS Church building in Hamilton, Mont., here are 10 suggestions to make your own open house a success:

1. Ensure that the event has a Christ-centered theme that appeals to those both searching for truth or those with a well-developed faith in Jesus Christ.

“Come Unto Christ” was the theme of our open house and advertised to the community as an art show featuring prints, paintings, statues and other representations of Jesus Christ from Mormon families’ private collections. Although our members live far from LDS distribution centers or bookstores, it was amazing to see the variety of beautiful art pieces brought for display. The work of many of our talented artists was also displayed through homemade quilts, paintings and hand-stitched projects. One talented member made dozens of oak easels to display framed pictures of all sizes throughout the building

It would also

It would also reimburse you if you have to cancel the vacation due to sickness, a death in the family or other calamity listed in the insurance policy.

Travel cancellation is very different from a Cancellation Waiver that many cruise and tour operators offer. Waivers are relatively inexpensive. They provide coverage if you have to cancel the trip, but they have many restrictions.

They must be purchased when you book the trip and will usually not cover you immediately before departure. Most importantly, waiver is not insurance.

2. Personal liability

Personal Liability is important in case of legal liability, arising out of one’s negligence in causing a third party injury (or death) and/or third party property damage.

Some traveler insurance companies even insure against the loss or theft of golfing equipment and laptops.

3. Luggage/Baggage/Flight Delay

This feature comes along with a “Time” excess, meaning that the traveler insurance companies only compensate when the delay exceeds a certain time frame. The limit for loss of luggage/baggage/flight varies, usually with a cap for individual items.

4. Emergency & Medical Assistance and Information Service

Look for those 24-hour services that offer information on visa requirements, foreign exchange, weather forecasts and medical advice et cetera.

Emergency evacuation is very helpful indeed for inexperienced travelers or travelers with medical conditions or for those who are traveling to more remote and less traveled places.

These service centers may also offer emergency assistance in the form of embassy, legal, interpreter and medical referrals.

Most vacation insurance policies would compensate a couple of hundred dollars for each day of hospitalization up to the maximum limit indicated in their respective packages.

This is solely to compensate the traveler for the number of days spent in a hospital overseas and should not be mistaken as hospital or medical reimbursement, which takes care of the hospital and ward charges.

4.
